Magic Film is proud to announce that the mini-series The Last Divorce of Communism has received support from the Lietuvos kino centras (Lithuanian Film Centre) as a Lithuanian minority co-production.

This recognition marks an important milestone for the project and highlights the growing strength of regional collaboration in European storytelling. The Last Divorce of Communism is a Latvian–Bulgarian–Lithuanian co-production, bringing together leading creative voices and production partners from across the region to tell a story deeply rooted in our shared European history.

The series brings together a strong international team of production partners, including Tasse Film, LTV, and Agitprop, in collaboration with the Bulgarian National Film Center. The project is produced by Aija Berzina, with Martichka Bozhilova joining as the Bulgarian co-producer, and directed by Stanislavs Tokalovs, Teodora Markova, and Tomas Vengris. The project has also received support from the Lithuanian Film Centre (Lietuvos kino centras) — Lithuania’s national film fund — with Magic Film participating as the Lithuanian minority co-producer.

Support from the Lithuanian Film Centre represents a significant step forward in the production of the series. Magic Film extends its sincere gratitude to the Lietuvos kino centras and the expert committee for their trust and support.

We look forward to continuing this journey together with our outstanding partners and creative team as The Last Divorce of Communism moves forward in development and production.
